Donations

The Germanic-American Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. As membership dues cover less than 5% of the GAI’s annual operating costs, we rely on additional donor support from our members and friends. All contributions to the GAI are fully tax-deductible, and all cash gifts are promptly acknowledged in writing.
Contributions to the GAI support:

Cultural programming
Language education for adults and children
Kinderstube German Immersion Preschool
Maintenance and repairs to our historic Haus
Basic operating costs

Many employers are willing to match the contribution of their employees. Please consider the GAI when you make your annual giving plan. The GAI also welcomes in-kind donations. Contact the office to inquire about current supply needs.

The GAI can accept contributions by check and credit card, by phone, by mail, or on-line via PayPal or GiveMn.org.

Planned Giving to the GAI

Giving is about more than what we earn or have
Giving is about who we are,
What we value, and
How we will be remembered by the future.

Supporters of the GAI may also make a contribution through their estate planning in order to ensure that our mission is carried out for future generations. Donors may choose to direct their gift to Operations, Building, Education, the Endowment or any combination of the options.

A bequest in a will or estate valued at $10,000 or more qualifies the donor for membership in the GAI Legacy Society. Members receive invitations to special yearly events, and they may choose to have their gift memorialized in honor of a loved one or special occasion.
