The library on the second floor of the GAI offers a variety of materials in the German language for members to use and check out. Besides books (fiction, history, travel, language, children/youth), the library’s collection includes audio recording on CD-ROM and cassettes as well as DVD movies from Germany and other European countries. For children, the library offers a variety of programs on cassettes and DVDs. All DVDs are compatible with US-standard DVD players and many include English subtitles.Members can check out materials at any time when the GAI is open (usually Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). In addition, the library is staffed during events such as the monthly dinners.
Books can be checked out for four weeks, movies and other media for two weeks. To return, just drop in the wooden box outside the library door or mail back to GAI Library using the discounted book rate.
