Praktisch Deutsch (Levels 1A-2B)

Praktisch Deutsch is ideal for those with no or very limited German experience who want to build a practical speaking proficiency in everyday German. The primary focus of the course is to develop speaking and listening comprehension skills to allow students to participate in conversation with German-speaking friends, relatives, and new people in Germany. The class pace allows for plenty of integrated review and practice. Praktisch Deutsch is a good choice for future tourists, those new to learning a foreign language, or anyone with limited time for outside studying.

 

Course descriptions

Praktisch Deutsch 1-A: Course is suitable for absolute beginners. Students will learn correct pronunciation and the basic grammar of present tense. Topics include introducing oneself and family members, numbers, shopping for and discussing food, describing the home and its location. Next recommended course: Praktisch Deutsch 1-B.

Praktisch Deutsch 1-B: Course is a continuation of level 1. Topics covered include telling time and describing one's daily routine, hobbies and freetime activities, the weather, and an introduction to irregular verbs and the conversational past tense. Next recommended course: G200.
